without Your love
i’d be a hollowed out tree
i’d only be
an
illusion of me
without Your love
my soul
would be more like an image
projected on a screen
than a home
not
a real thing
not breathing joy and pain
not rearranging
reality
under
Your
reign
without Your love
I am a skeleton left in the woods
I am the remains
of nothing
worth
mentioning
like a pretty woman never married
like a death without an
obituary
not even a fog
not
even
a memory
without Your love
i’d wake up to endless insatiable slumber
deafening me to the heartbeat
of
the
earth
engulfed by worthlessness, the first prize of
embellished
hopelessness
half eaten and rusted
with
regret
but…
with You
and Your
love
I am a garden locked away of which the birds whisper
secret
choruses and the flowers
leak
ethereal aromas
and I have a gentle way
of soaking up the gold flakes and sun rays
drinking up
rainy
days to make
life
my words like a coloured straw
to sip on
You
blushing in awe as
You grin and make songs that turn the heads of my
sunflowers and open
the
buds of my roses
my
cup overflows
everything else I know grows tasteless and
mouldy
You rolled up the grave before I
could
shut
my
eyes
died to remind me
You’re mine
before I belonged to You
You belonged
to
me
You’re mine…
Jesus
You
are
mine and I am Yours.
