depression
it is
the common cold
of mental health
germs
a shapeshifting queen
it
is sex addiction, intravenus euphoria
gambling and shopping
fiends
it is a man tearing down his entire world
it’s a baby
girl whose parents
don’t
remember her
sometimes it looks tired, listless, bedridden, sick
sometimes it has
hands
around the throat of a woman in her
own bedroom
depression says the hell with it
says no
to
life
lets go before it gets
and gives up before it
gives
it is always hungry, never satisfied
looking to spill
over onto some new compartment of life
heaven forbid
you
should live
TO LOVE AND HONOUR AND SERVE THE LORD YOUR GOD
so with one
voice
we expel its black steam from our bodies
and say
in Jesus’ name your back
is
broken
not just from a heart
Jesus blood will find you wherever you
are and you will
fall
like crusted leaves off of the church
and the to-be church
and
the breath of God will enter
the
dirt
again
make casualties into lovers
oh once again eternity will hardwire our minds!
Because faith is only ridiculous
when
we
have
a deathwish fetish
and we’re determined to make our fantasies
come true.

Wow. Very powerful and thought provoking write. The ending is brilliant! May The Lord continue to bless you and your writing and use it for His glory.
Thanks! I couldn’t figure out the ending so I asked the Lord to write an ending for me. It was funny, I was like “that’s a little intense Lord” and He’s like “I know…” and that was that lol hope you have a great day!

I feel sad sometimes,….Most of the time my sadness,…is for someone else,…
When I do feel sad for me,…..I just look at what the lord has given me,….It`s not on the outside where someone can easily see,….It`s the hope, and the knowing in my heart that the Lord will make it alright,….
Thank You Jesus,….
That’s awesome John! Never be ashamed to be full of hope. I think it’s okay to hurt for others at times as well because it’s part of love. And I just encourage you that when you’re in that place of hope and blessing to speak freedom over others who are still stuck in despair :> God bless you with even more of His Spirit John!

As I read this I saw alot of this in my husband who loves the Lord, but because of pain, intense pain that cannot be fixed by any dr. and also some pain from his past that he won’t let go, depression will come and he will follow the lies of the enemy and let his vain imaginings have their way with him. I believe we must be strong in the word to overcome these root causes that all come from our enemy. If we give him an inch he will take a mile and we are defenseless for combat. It’s important in our walk to always have our full armor on and recognize the wiles of the enemy who comes around like a roaring lion, seeking whom he may devour. It’s his mission to kill, still and destroy, and he succeeds when we don’t have enough ammunition through the word of truth. Keep growing stronger and the power of Jesus is ours as we already have the victory.
I can imagine that that would be incredibly difficult because depression is such a complicated issue, one that unfortunately tends to recur in people. I’ve wrestled with the fact that there is power in prayer and yet many aren’t healed instantly. But I’ve learned that God has so much grace for us in our weakness and His patience is amazing. I bless you with faith and I pray that your home will be filled with peace and love. May God’s love fill your husband and pour out of him simultaneously, may he have freedom in every area of his life to be the man God created him to be in Jesus’ name, amen. (Hope you don’t mind me praying right here) Thanks for sharing your thoughts with me. :> Have a great day vigor!

Prayer is good anywhere and at any time. Thank you sweetie for that, I come in agreement with you for the same thing, Carl is a diamond in the rough! I pray that above all things, he will find that peace that surpasses all understanding! He has a loving heart.
