lips
and press them

because I can’t seem to drink

my ears are famished
shriveled
like weeds uprooted and naked
in the heat of
August

but
of the one I
worship
I am
drunk with desire and fainting
from my
attempts
to drain the words
from Your
mouth
can you make it easier
by
making them
audible
please
You know
I don’t know left from right
and I know
confusion isn’t a fruit of the Spirit
and while You’re at it
I’d love
all that other stuff
You’re made
of
[if You possess me I won’t have to look so hard]
I feel
so unmoved but I know
that your whisper
can rip my feet from the ground
and make me ransack the skies like an
addict
because nothing
else
quite
does it
for
me.
