Memorial Day in Memorial Park, Omaha, Nebraska.
The statue, looking to the future, in Memorial Park.
The park was fully funded by private donations and donated to the city of Omaha to honor over 950 men and women of the armed forced from Douglas County who died during WWII.
Started in 1945, President Truman gave the dedication speech in 1948.
Every Memorial Day, the city holds a service to honor those who have died and those who have served.
Sadly, only a couple hundred people show up. I hope some day that it will be more.
