The weather is in such flux. Warm then cold then repeat the cycle. In this image, the pine cones have started to open because of the warmer weather the sap even started to run. Then zap! Old Man Winter stepped in to show us that Winter is far from over. The sap has frozen in place like frozen sugar crystals. At the base of the image, there is a lonely, young Flicker with a drop of water on the end of it’s nose. He better shake that drop off before it freezes.
Original image of pine cones taken at Crater Lake National Park in Southern Oregon. The Flicker was added as a composite image, by using layers, in Photoshop CS6. Snow flakes added with a Photoshop brush by hawksmont “here” http://hawksmont.deviantart.com
