First Light And The Nectar's Just Right! by

Ok getting this shot was difficult. This Rufus Hummer was so fast that I would get the hummer in great, but no Lily, then I would get the lily but the hummer was already gone. So I took the best of each and using apply image in photoshop and blending modes, I put them together. All of this was taken through my kitchen window and yes I already had my coffee and I still wasn’t quick enough!

Wonderful photo. I love the soft coloring on this. Love little Rufous and miss them. We don’t get them here in AZ like we did in Oregon.

  • Hi Mary, I love the Rufous too, they are so colorful and feisty. I’ve never been to Arizona, do you get any of the hummers down there? Thanks for your great comments and the wonderful fav! Dee

This beauty has that magical touch to it…..they are quick aren’t they?
I’ve tried to get a shot but wanted to toss my camera at a tree in frustration.

  • Hi Von, I sure understand your frustration, especially when I kept missing the shot that I wanted, and my kitchen sink was in the way and I’m only 5’2’’ tall. Glad that you liked the image, thanks for your great comments! Dee
