Nothing says romance like roses. I love the color purple so chose that as my topic to add texture to. By doing so an entirely different piece of art is created.
This particular rose has a heavenly smell that haunts you long after you leave the rose bush itself. Add to that the beauty of lavender and you have near perfection. The rose opens up to a wide 4-5 inches and even the buds are beautiful but usually start out as a wonderful shade of dark pink to add contrast to the blooming bush. The rose bush will bloom all summer and I always miss looking out of my window at the mass of purple blooms when frost nips the air.
The original image of purple roses was taken in my garden in Southern Oregon. Image taken with a Canon G9 at 16.8 mm, 1/160s, Iso 80, F4.0.
By using Layers in Photoshop CS6 and a Layers Mask filled with black, I selectively applied two layers of texture. The final image was processed in Topaz Adjust for a more pronounced detail and as a final finishing treatment the PS Oil Painting Texture was applied.
