The Tay flows past Aberfeldy, having arisen from Loch Tay about 8 km away, and confluent with the tributary River Lyon near Fortingall.
From this viewpoint, the Tay is about to flow past the Black Watch monument and under the Wade Bridge at Aberfeldy.
