Stripes? What Stripes? Solved by Pix -Elation!by dogtoy
For the August Bubble Jeopardy challenge “stripes”. Can you guess what this is?
And a note for my BJ friends. This is me, ericb in my new identity. Following Misfits example, I have opened a separate account, in this case, for playing games and for my less serious artworks. Same great sense of humor, new name.
The guesses/clues;
1. Not wood 2. Not a fungus 3. Not dried figs 4. Not handmade 5. Not leather 6. Not the sole of a shoe 7. Not a rock, stone or gem 8. It IS an insect. We’re half way there.
What type of insect?
9. Not a cockroach 10. Not a beetle 11. Not a moth 12. Not a spider 13. Not a praying mantis 14. Not a grasshopper 15. Not a fly 16. Not a walking stick 17. Not a butterfly 18. Not an earwig 19. Not a scorpion 20. Not a locust
It’s the empty shell left by a growing Cicada / Junebug
A. I’m not sure if there are joined segments or if it is all one solid piece. The object may have had some flexibility when it was in use. In its present state, it seems to be all one piece.

Is it wood?
Hi ERIC!
Sorry. It’s not wood, although it does look like a nice wood grain.

Is it an agate or other rock used in jewelry?
No, Kay, it’s not rock, stone or gem. Not many people would want to wear this.

Ok, how about an insect?
Ah. Here we go. Yes, it is an insect. 50% credit. Let’s see if the type of insect can be found.

A cockroach?
A beetle?
Not a cockroach.
I’m not sure if it’s in the beetle family or not. I’ll check that in a minute.
– dogtoy
I’ll say no, it’s not a beetle. The word “beetle” is definitely not in its name.
