I’m watching you more than you think.
When caught, i get a cheeky smile
i return it with a funny face
you then stare and drool for a while.

Its funny to see you watch your brother,
begging your legs to work like his
trust me, don’t rush into it,
like your first future teenage kiss.

My son you will grow up,
though i’d love you to stay as you are
as constricted to your baby form.
you cant go very far.

I know it does sound selfish
i won’t be able to contol your choice
i think am getting ahead of myself
your only finding your voice.

I love you boy, i’m always there
i’ll never leave your side
even when you’ve gone all teenage psycho
with emotions like the tide.

One day i won’t be here
but you know i really am,
as you read this poem over an over
remember your’e my baby lamb.

I’ll be watching you when you sleep,
protecting you from the bad,
whenever you feel the wind in your hair
that will always be your dad.
