This is a familiar image to me for the past 25 years of spending a weekend at lake Okaboji in Iowa for our family reunions. Every morning on the Saturday after we arrive we have walked out the front door of our cabin onto the beach and taken the canoes out on the lakes. Those quiet calm mornings, and returning to Grandpa making pancakes in the beach house is one of my fondest memories.

Love this Dawne, the symbolism is excellent but I also love the texture on the canoes showing that they are well used! Such a delightful memory invoked!

  • Thank you Joanne… it certainly has a special place in my heart! :0)
