Where I've been... by Dawne Olson

Posted on January 11, 2010

My activity on RedBubble has been very scarce lately and I feel like I’ve lost some “friends” due to my neglect! If anyone is still there who I’ve been sharing this space with for the past few years that happened to miss me, here is the reason:

I started building a canoe on December first, and while the project is still ongoing, I thought I better stop in and give an account of my whereabouts. I do enjoy the support and time others have invested in my photography and I MISS sharing with all of you and seeing your terrific pictures! I just want to offer just cause for my preoccupation and wish you are all having a fantastic winter and I hope to catch up soon!!

If you have any interest in the building process I have documented (far too extensively) every step of the build at a web album on Picasa. Follow the link if you’re interested!

Oh my gosh that is unbelievable! What a wonder woman! Building your own canoe, whoooohooo! I remember you mentioning you were sending away for plans, but I did not think you were going to make it happen so fast! Wow, impressive!

  • Dawne Olson:

Oh Joanne! I knew you would love it!! I couldn’t wait to show you!! I’m waiting for fiberglass now which shipped from Florida a week ago, but with our snowstorm no one could get any deliveries into me! Believe it or not, I only JUST got your beautiful card of “Roxie” last week in the mail!! I think RB must have lost my order for a while or something. I LOVE it. Talk to you soon! Dawne

Thanks hon! I am so enjoying every moment of its creation! I daydream about slipping it into the still waters of a lake in early Spring for the first time! Much thanks for your visit.

  • Dawne Olson:

It was a fun kind of “work” but it was work… and a very rewarding season too. She’s resting in the loft of our garage for the winter but I’m very much looking foward to next Spring. Thanks for the visit :)
