All the Pretty Horses
My whole gang lined up along the fence near the barn and the colors and lines of their backs made such a pretty landscape I had to get this picture before they all headed back out to pasture. Front to back: Jack, Angel, Rock and Iris.
“Ponies” by Jeffrey Bullock
Somewhere out on the prairie
Is the greatest cowboy that’s ever been
And when he lays his hands upon the ponies
They shudder with an understanding skin
And he says ponies
Now ponies don’t you worry
I have not come to steal your fire away
I want to fly with you across the sunrise
Discover what begins each shining day
When the storm clouds in the west
Are quickly gathering
The ponies they run wild there
Before it rains
You’ll see their sleek dark bodies
Brightly gleaming
You know the fire is flying through
Their brains
And he says ponies
Now ponies don’t you worry
I have not come to steal your fire away
I want to fly with you across the sunrise
Discover what begins each shining day

Awesome, that is so amazing! What a great photo opportunity! Just love the colors, itès rolling hills of dappled sunlight! Excellent composition!
Dawne Olson replied
Thank you Joanne! I have seen them lined up like this many times (anything happening on the other side of the fence gets them in queue like a bunch of curious kids) but I had to get some helpers last weekend to hold them there and space them a little bit before I sold the bay mare this weekend. I knew it would be my last opportunity to get all four together.

Please accept my apologies Dawne.. I realize that you are not Claire.. I really do!! lol
Dawne Olson replied
Thank you Ken… I have done that before too (not called myself Claire, but written the wrong name in a response) :0) super easy to do when you know so many people on RB!!
jensw61
that was very good of them, to stay while you got your camera! Lovely shot.
Dawne Olson replied
They often stand this way but not long enough to get their picture… I had a few ‘helpers’ to keep them spaced for me just long enough to photograph it. Thank you for your comment :0)
Karen McLain

This is an incredibly clever natural abstract, Dawne!!! Took me a few moments to understand what I was seeing, which means imho that this really works!!! Well done!

Jan Piller
Very clever photo Dawne!
Dawne Olson replied
Thanks Jan! Had it in my mind for a while, but pulling it together was another story… like trying to get a class full of kindergarten kids with ADHD to sit and listen to Shakespeare.
Ronald Rockman
Superb composition, just marvellous, what a good eye you have to pick this up.
Cheers,
Rock
Dawne Olson replied
Thanks Rock… I wondered about cropping it at the bottom to make it a completely square image…what do you think?
Kendra Taber

Love this Dawne (and also like the idea of a square image (not that you asked))
