Morning Reverie
Just another buffalo picture from scenic Yellowstone National Park. I love this one for the variety of natures delights all in one picture! Snow capped mountains, pristine streams, wildlife (view larger to see many geese and other waterfowl in the background water) rolling hills, wildflowers, green piney trees, and the mighty bison.
I know I might be over doing it with the buffalo images but I keep going back to this one on my computer and thinking of that old song, “Oh give me a home, where the buffalo roam, where the deer and the antelope play. Where seldom is heard a discouraging word, and the skies are not cloudy all day.”

what a wonderful scene you have there and it also looks cold, wonderful depth of field and clarity as well :) k
Dawne Olson replied
Thanks Kristina, It was late June, so mornings were chilly (about 38 F) but day time was 80’s. Beautiful weather. The high altitude keeps the snow from melting off the mountains.

Where the buffalo roam….Wonderful shot. Love the grass and water, then the trees, then the mountains, then the sky. Lots of layers. Then add the buffalo.Super.

It was one of those “whoa! Stop the car and back up a minute…” scenes. We were on our way out of Yellowstone very early in the morning and I had promised not to make hubby stop the truck for any more pictures! (Never make your spouse that promise while driving through Yellowstone!!) lol! Thanks for the comment!

Oh I can hear that song playing in my head and as a child was not too sure of the visual.
And this is it!!!! Amazing shot and image!
Dawne Olson replied
Thank you Joanne!! I had thought maybe the use of those lyrics was a bit too ‘cliche’ but it just fit so perfectly!

This might be just another Buffalo picture in the US but, in the UK we don’t see many of these and I think this one is great!
Dawne Olson replied
Its true there are quite a few buffalo in the midwestern part of the US… but to see the great landscape (mountains, stream, snow) all come together as a backdrop—it was like a postcard. Thanks for your visit and the comment!
