Babaji, the Eternal Himalayan Sage by doctorharrison

There is a special place in my heart for Babaji.
(In India, baba means father, or holy man.
Ji is a suffix that implies affection, devotion)

Some say Babaji appeared to Yogi Jesus.
He also appeared to more contemporary saints such as Lahiri Mahasya, Sri Yukteswar Giri and Paramahansa Yogananda.

It is ironic that throughout history, saints have often appeared when there is time of crisis. Now Global Crisis is here, and I call upon us all to pray for help and guidance. Calling all Saints. We need a global Transformation.

I spent some time in the only Babaji ashram in America,
high in the Rocky Mountains of Colorado. Up at dawn for the morning fire ceremony (puja), we folllowed Baba’s three precepts:
Truth, Simplicity, Love.

Truth, Simplicity, Love.

According to Babaji, the best spiritual path for this age ( this yuga) is a combination of two things: mantra (power prayers) and seva (service)
Why mantra and seva? They are two of the simplest and best tools for taming the monkey mind and its inherent anxiety, fear and fixations.

What Mantras?

In India, millions chant “Om Namah Sivaya”which can be translated as “I honor and identify with the divinity that resides within myself”.

Devotees of Jesus pray, “Om to Yogi Jesus”.

Vaishnuvites repeat “Hare Krishna, Hare Krishna”

In Islam, it is “Om to Allah”

For a Buddhist, it becomes “Om Mani Padme Hoom”
or Om to jeweled lotus, the heart, the seat of love.

The message is this: “God” is not something outside of you.
Divinity is inside you. You are divine, right now.

Think of yourself as a droplet in the vast ocean, a “godlet” in the vast cosmos.

Blessings,
