Bill and his dog Ted.
Bill couldn’t get any emergency accommodation because no one would let him keep Ted, so they chose to live together under the bridge.

This is fantastic…love the dogs disinterest in the photographer!
shawhouse
fine capture. the tones are spot on. One can find a love story and evidence of unblinking dignity all wrapped up in the strangest places, and you did. bravo!
Deborah Parkin
i think Shawhouse sums this up for me really – we often here about a dogs loyalty to their owner and now we see how human beings can have that ability too – even if it is to their detriment. Superb, moving image – thought -provoking too.
Lou Green
feels like we’ve been invited into Bill and Ted’s apartment- there is a dignity about this image, as Shawhouse said…
Melissa Kosswig

Shawhouse said it best, but I understand Bill. I’d do that. This shot just about says it all about the human canine bond.

Powerful work…
Judith Oppenhe...
there is so much to comment on here – the cup on the there, the man’s expression, how the dog is facing, the composition, the columns, everything. great work.
Wegwoman
Great capture! Thanks for sharing the story.
Gerijuliaj
The composition and individual elements down to the mug on the chair make this a great photo. It’s great Bill doesn’t seem to mind you taking his photo – you obviously spoke of his situation first. I do hope for his sake that he does find some accommodation soon.
docophoto
I’m so touched that you all get it. RB gives us all a chance to have both our images and subjects seen.
Tiffany Dryburgh
Bloody outrageous the ‘system’ should make a person give up what may be the only love and joy and lightness in his life! This is just a stunning portrait in both aesthetic and stubstance.
BTW is that the Moonee Ponds Creek under the City Link tollway? I think I have some pics of those very same pylons however Bill and Ted were not in residence at the time.
funkyfacestudio
So sad…..wonderful photograph though.

Thanks to all who have taken the time to view & comment on this image. Though the story is sad, Bill & Ted appeared to be if not happy with their circumstances, content at least to have each other.

Congratulations on being featured on the Red Bubble Homeless-themed home page.
November 21st 2009.
You have managed to capture the lives of the homeless in such a way that it makes us think about how lucky we are and it also keeps the image brutally truthful as to what still happens today.
