well this is me messing around saw an artical bout turning bland photos into lithographs so i took this stock photo turned it into black an white messed about with levels gave it loads of contrast blew it out in the unsharp filter an used the cutout filter then just to make it intersting i used the background pic to give it an aged feel an coss i blew all the sky out into a white background used the multiply in levels to get rid of all the white and added a border effect so thought i would upload it for fun

Well – it looks good to me Don. ;o)) Really like the effect – and the paper edges are great.

there you are have you been away iv missed your comments on my last couple of works ie the mask and fligh free the paper edges was inspired by one of your pieces where you use an open book as part of the background its a fairly simple proccess so if you have any photos where you like the main subject but the backgeound is a bit dull oe bland try it out works best on things like old stone briges biuldings with brick or stone or poelple with lots of wrinckles an creases in there skin that type of thing

thanks the thing to do is use lots of contrast an cut out the mid tones so you get a very black an white effect i didnt have to use the cutout effect in filters but it just added more simplicity to the edges and in the unsharp you have to forget about the normal use for that filter and take it way over the top i use that in a lot of my pics that way it really adds interesting effects but you have to bear in mind what works in one shot wont nececerily work in another hope this is usfull for you

Hi Don. Not been away – just been busy with family stuff (all good). And, also, totally uninspired with regard to images – just nothing there at the moment!!?? Odd – as usually I can find all sorts of ideas – I may not add to rb or flickr but they are there! Question – is the old paper a stock image, a border, or something you created? I love the effect BTW. Will go and look on you stream, too, as I just clicked on this image. ;o))
