Having worked in industry for too many years without indulging my passion for creativity was taking it’s toll on me. So, in 2006, i threw caution to the wind, took a part-time job and began to paint for my supper!
Although i have no formal training in art i have always sketched and began oil painting about 10 years ago. Painting at the time was something i did in my spare time but it soon developed into a passion. Initially i distributed by paintings amongst friends and relatives when birthdays came around but soon found there was more of a demand for my work than i had anticipated and i began to sell work.
After setting up a website last year to sell my pop-art style portraits ,and to showcase my own style, i began to indulge myself in more creative, flowing, abstract paintings alongside painting the human form, which has proved both challenging and rewarding.
My efforts are beginning to pay off with my first exhibition under my belt and more in the pipeline.
With my current work it is my intention to communicate feelings, fluidity, movement and spontanaity in my paintings. To capture a transision of evolving thought and ideas onto canvas. To make a visual representation of this process to be inspected, ingested and digested by the viewer.
Some may see light where others see dark, some will understand whilst others may not. For my part I hope they please the viewer and also hope they convey some sense of beauty. If i achieve that i have achieved everything.
