The sun shines radiantly golden as it begins to rise over the crest of the mountains beyond the banks of the Columbia River near Kelso and Longview, Washington. The Pacific Northwest clouds are dark and brooding in the amber sky while the river flows peacefully between the Washington and Oregon shores. Sunlight glows on a golden path across the river towards the steeple of the Methodist church in Rainier, Oregon.
