Introducing leggings. You’ll never run out of inspiration.

A waterfall photograph of Uldale Force, in Cumbria, but also the Yorkshire Dales National Park.

I started photography around 30 years ago, and became interested in landscape photography after seeing the work of Derry Brabbs in “James Herriot’s Yorkshire”.

I live in Cumbria and take most of my photographs in the Lake District and Yorkshire Dales.

In addition to Redbubble, I sell work through, PhotoBox, Zazzle, Greetings Card Universe, etc.

At last, I have seen a shot of this place! I tried to visit it over a month ago, well I say try…it was the plan but after 4 days of awful weather in the Lakes with no sleep I was simply to tired and had to go home. Did you discover this on secret britain? Its a very good shot and has spurred me on to go!

  • Hi James. Yes, I did “discover” it on Secret Britain. It was certainly a new one on me. I guess the fact that it’s fairly remote and not named on OS maps has stopped it being better known. (Until now maybe)!
If you do have another attempt, allow plenty of time, and go well shod, especially if visiting after heavy rain. The final mile or so is fairly heavy going and you need to take care.

I managed to get this far

  • Yes, I had second thoughts there too. The path that bypasses the lower fall had partly slipped away. If you fell there, you’d be straight in the river. I decided to climb much higher, and found a way round.
I did actually come back on the lower path though, having got the pics! It looks like you had a bit more water than I had.
