Thank you, anaisanais. It’s from a childhood memory. I was eight, on an ocean liner, standing on one of those lower decks where only the crew was supposed to go. It was night, and there was a stormy, stormy sea, but the moon was out, too. The waves were as high as me, maybe higher. I remember I was not afraid, at all. The image has stayed with me my whole life. I finally painted it. I did it in oils years ago. Then I did this one in digital, as well. I prefer the digital, perhaps because now I’m less inclined to fret imperfections and don’t rework. =)
