Walking a path through my forest, I near the edge where the trees stop and meadow begins. It’s late summer/early autumn, and, while it’s very cool in the shade of the big trees, out in the sunshine, it’s so hot your brain buzzes. I think I’ll stay in the cool. =)

The colors and the different brush strokes make this piece for me. Love it!

  • Thanks, Stacy. Most of the locals don’t like this one, for some reason.

Very beautifufl; I love the lighting in this piece….the depth is wonderful…the motion in the strokes in the foreground grab your attention and the tall strokes of the forest take the viewer all the way in….lovely! Vere peaceful…..

  • Thank you. Your comment tells me that what I hoped would happen, did. I meant for it to be as if walking on a forest pathway, seeing it curve and welcome you to go further. So, again, thanks.

Fantastic piece. There is something very welcoming about it, but also something very foreboding. Is this a digital work, or acrylic/oil?

  • It’s digital using Painter Classic, and thanks. The effect I wanted was what you express.

Beautiful, dreamy, mossy… I can smell the forest through the trees.

  • Thanks MaryAnn. I appreciate your sentiments. At that particular spot on the walk, yes, the smell of the forest is pungent and moss is thick on the shady sides of the trees. It’s wonderful.

    lovely colours and composition!!!!

  • Thanks, Andy. I sometimes get criticized for chopping my trees off, but it’s what I see on my daily walks, so that’s what I paint. =)

love the light and the texture.. :)

  • Thanks. Light and shadow are strong parts of my style, maybe the one common thread in most of my work. Subtle muted tones are also something I love. Thanks for commenting.
