Most of the complaints about this image from people who haven’t hung it is that it is so “dark.” Actually, hanging in my friend’s house on an broad ivory wall, with a taupe matt and a frame that was stained similar to the overall dune color, it’s magnificent. I was very startled to see it when I went to dinner there. She’d asked for it, had it printed larger than I cared for, then had it matted and framed by an old-time framer, and I had never seen the final work because, quite frankly, I was not pleased that she had gone beyond my size advisements. I was pleasantly surprised.
