December's Healing Snows, from The Trees series

In December, the snows are usually still sparce, but the wind will kick them into carved drifts, leaving the ground just frosted with this wonderful snow sculpts. And when the sun gets low enough around 2 in the afternoon, you get this “smile of hope” in the heart of the forest as man has retreated and all is peace and quiet.
