Caused but the ripples of the receding tide, the pattern reminded me of a Picasso painting of a face.

Great details and perspective.
Great shot it almost looks like it is cast in concrete. Well captured.
Incredible relief (Whew!) – How do you spot these things David?! – Fantastic eye (yours and in the picture)
Kafka, I found that I was always looking straight ahead worrying about what was in front of me and what was to come. Once I realized to look down and to the sides, a whole new world opened up for me. That’s pretty much how I started doing what I do.
Thanks everyone for the kind words.

I can see where you’re coming from with the Picasso thing – good shot though even without the master’s association
Isn’t it amazing what the tide can do! Some lovely shapes and lines in this David.
I couldn’t agree more. There is just something wonderful about the relationship between sand and sea. I could go back to the same spot and infinite number of times and never see the same thing twice.
stunning close up study of the creative talents of the ocean and the earth…..
Lovely shapes well spotted
I love this, at first glance i thought you’d macro’d part of a finger print !
Great shot David.. the texture of this is very nice and I love the patterns.. amazing simple yet stunning work!
beautiful detail and contrast
