Another brilliant shot. Your abstracts are so well done. They seem like modern art to me. So well detailed and textured but simple and striking!!!!

    LOVE the contrast, Dave!
Do you have any special PP techniques?

  • David Librach ... replied

    Thanks Ben.

As far as PP, I simply do what I have to in order to make the final image appear as it did to my eyes when I took it. Mainly just a bit of contrast, colour adjustments and some dodging and burning. Nothing too fancy.

David, I really love the way you cropped this with the red board offering its own motif and texture on top of the white background which has an amazing character all of its own. Red, white and black is my fav color combination so this immediately, floated my boat. But this is just as much a study in form and texture as it is in color combining. Not only does your composition allow us to hop back and forth between the bracket on the board and the hole in the wall, but it also tells a story… one that our imagination can play with and not want to move on too quickly. An image is successful to me if I want to stay and look around, even though the picture as a whole has enough impact on its own to catch my eye and make me look deeper.

This is a great example of a seemingly simplistic image that has masses of depth and character. Nice work!

I like this – really nice balance between white and red, and the detail on the white side is interesting and complex. Very cool!

The composition works well with the red and white. Normally you might expect black and white, however red works just as well. And the texture is a great representation of the dilapidated building.
