Painted Landscape

Painted Landscape by David Librach - DL Photography

Painted Landscape

This is actually an image of a painted wall (blue) and a board (red) that was nailed to the wall. This was originally shot horizontally but I knew that by rotating it 90 degrees, it would give the effect of earth and sky with the cracked paint acting as clouds. Others see it as a beach with the crack acting as a crashing wave. That’s the great thing about art, we can interpret and appreciate it from our own unique, and equally valid, perspectives.

This was taken in an abandoned complex. Other images from this location can be seen here.

I like the rotation. Actually I saw it as the beach-red, the ocean with a cresting wave-the crack, and the blue, blue sky above. Whatever it is, its great for the imagination!

Hmmm…now all I see is a beach and wave. Good catch. Might have to change the title. :)

Thanks everyone for the kind words.

I am humbled by the comparison. I wish I could paint though. I simply capture what is in my world. He was a master at creating his own.

To my estimation, its all one and the same – painters paint a picture from their imaginations, photographers capture the imagination of god – if done well, in both instances, the result forces deep contemplation of our part in this play! You, sir, have done fantastically ;)

Neat abstract! Definitely could compete in the modern art category. Primary colors are very striking.
