Simply wonderful image. I love the simplicity of the composition and the minimal amount of objects in it, yet the visual impact is very strong. The rope and the end of the boat both starts from the edges towards the center of the image, and the contrast of the black quarter with the white boat and yellow rope makes this image completely stand out. This is one of the simplest and captivating images that I have seen here. without doubt it is an instant favorite for me.

As I am still very green with my work, it amazes me to come across shots like this. They remind you that many people can snap a landscape and photoshop it (monkeys like me). It is a shot like this, that has composition and contrast… done on purpose!

Apart from everything else, I love the green thing in the boat. It makes you look at the shot twice as long as if it wasn’t there.

When I look through your portfolio this image always captivates me. I will repeat what others have said, the composition, the simplicity, the contrast are all marvelous! I like to visit to remind myself what is truly essential to compose a great photo!
