Artist's Description

Digital art inspired by the voice of Janis Joplin and the warm Georgia (USA) sunshine which brings with it wonderful butterflies and all that nature has to offer. I agree with Janis when she sings one of my favorites,, “Summertime”, that “the living is easy”. So in this beautiful season I am thankful for the sun, for the butterflies, for good booze, and for the music of the undisputed Queen of Rock n Roll. I think about Janis every day. I have to because I have used her name as my personal email address for going on 13 years now. Janis and I were cut from the same cloth. Extroverted in many ways, shy in others, always in control and out of control at the same time. We both always assumed that people would be truthful with us, and they rarely were or are. Both are and were ass kickers without apology….that was not always wise, but felt damn good at the time. I miss you, Janis. You are such a big part of me. But in that piece of heaven where you are, I pray you feel the warmth of the sun, the flutter of butterflies, and the bottle of Southern Comfort I raise in your honor.
