Artist's Description

This sweet litle doll is about 15 inches tall and is a creation by Georgene Averill who is best known for her design of the world famous Raggedy Ann and Raggedy Andy. This particular doll is from her line of dolls that was created in the 1918’s to the early 1920’s. I discovered her in an antique consignment shop in Gray, Georgia a few months ago. She is in excellent condition and has on all of her original clothing, which includes her dress, slip, diaper, booties with ribbons, hair bow, and original hand tag. Dolls like her and in her condition are selling on ebay in the neighborhood of $300 to $400. I paid $12 for her. And I must say that I could not pay for her quick enough and get her out of that store.
