*BEWARE* I picked up a virus on this site!!

On Friday I was looking at the comments on some of my works and noticed that one of the comments said "Congratulations " with a link line underneath the worsd. Since alot of the hosts do this when they feature a piece I thought it was a feature. When I ran the mouse over the line it said that my work had “been visited by a Milledgeville, Georgia visitor”. Since Milledgeville is very close to where I live I was excited and stupidly clicked on the link. As soon as I did, I knew it was a big mistake because my computer immediately went haywire. I got pop up ads all over the place, a survey came up, and my computer was completely taken over. Normally I am completely diligent about not opening links or forwarded emails, etc. I guess I was thinking that since I was…

The Rumor About Redbubble Being Sold

One of the artists on this site says that she has it on good authority that redbubble has been sold. She says that it is sinking and that artists are leaving in droves. Reality check time……an art site is only as good as the artists themselves make it. It does not really matter who owns the site Art is what makes the site and I see no lack of it on here. My groups are picking up new members all of the time. If people are leaving because there are no longer any vouchers for the challenges then they need to go anyway. Too many people were scamming the system to win and I even quit having challenges because of that. On an internet site one must be prepared to take the good with the bad. The only way to have everything your way is to have your own website. Then you can do…

Gays, Politics, and Religion

It seems that in the political arena the conversation about gay rights is finally being talked about in a sensible manner. I feel that gays should have the right to marry, adopt chiildren, visit their partners in the hospital, be on insurance policies together, participate in scouts, and do every other damned thing that is afforded a straight person under the law. When is society going to come out of the dark ages once and for all? Let homosexuals live their lives in peace!! I have always had gay friends. One of the best gay friends I ever had was Tom Gonzales. He helped me get thru a messy divorce from my first husband. Tom was there to dry the tears, make sure I ate, and practically mother henned me to death. I will always love him and owe him for that. I think that people who …

The "Play Nice" Policy Should Not Be A Novel Concept

I do hope that most of you know that redbubble has a “play nice” policy in place. I truly believe that you do since by and large most of us do our darnest to be “politically correct”. For those of you who pride yourselves on being politically correct, you need not read any further. Now for the stinkers in the crowd who delight in pushing buttons…..I have a few choice words for you. Listen up and if you are not careful, …..you may just learn something. Redbubble is an international website devoted to artists of all nations and cultures coming together to share their art. It is not a site which exists solely for people to throw up “art” as a smoke screen to push political agendas and bash countries other than their own. If you live in …

Mandatory Reading For Everyone In My Groups!!!

It has come to my attention from some artists on here that Peter Hill’s “Morning Rose” image was stolen by another artist and posted as his own. I, in turn, believed the image to be the property of the person to which the image did NOT belong and I featured it. Here is the image:

Having said that, I must tell you all this. There are 4 kinds of people that I WILL NOT tolerate…..liars, bigots, homophobs, and art thieves. If you are an art thief, you need to voluntarily remove yourself from my groups. If you don’t and I have verifiable proof that you are an art thief I will kick you out and haul you kicking and screaming before the powers that be at Redbubble itself. I hauled another individual before them on behavioral issues and he no longer has an acc…

The "Honey Boo Boo" Phenomenon

If you have not heard of the six year old phenomen known as “Honey Boo Boo”, you soon will. She is a little Southern Belle who now has her own show on TLC on Wednesday nights. Critics either love her or hate her. She has been dubbed the “new Shirley Templeof the Great Recession”. The reason that this little darling is so dear to me is that she and her family live within 8 miles of my house (Georgia, USA). Her uncouth redneck family is crude and proud of it. And horrors upon horrors, they have the nerve to put their chubby, crude, nasty mouthed little “Honey Boo Boo”, otherwise known as Alana in all of the snooty tot beauty pageants that the family can afford. The pageant expenses are apparently paid for via the mother’s (June) coupon redeem…

An Update On Buddy

As many of you know, we rescued a Basset Hound named Buddy. That was nine months ago. You can see his story and his photo in my photography portfolio. Well, Buddy has been a challenge. First of all, he has gained about 20 pounds since he has been with us. That is a considerable amount for a Basset, but he was extremely under weight. Due to horrible neglect, he suffers from separation anxiety and our vet has placed him on a mild sedative to help with that. Even so, he stills body slams the front door and weeps uncontrollably every time his Daddy steps out. He is also extremely attuned to any drop in barometric pressure. Tthunder and lightning will make him tremble and shake. I sent to Germany for a vet recommended “Thunder Shirt”, which seems to help some. It works …

My Little Girl Did Well In The Drawing Day Project!!!

She placed as number 33 in popularity in the June 4th Drawing Day 2011 project. Considering the quality and volume of work that was submitted, both she and I are pretty darn pleased with ourselves. Thanks to everyone who was involved with this project. It really was alot of fun. Personally, I featured every single entry that came into my group, GEMS, that was tagged “Drawing Day”. I loved it!! ~Deborah

Wonderful friends, wonderful times, wonderful works!!

Yesterday and today have been wonderful days for me here on redbubble. Three different artists dedicated pieces of their art to me. That is a zillion times more thrilling than getting features. Now don’t get me wrong, I LOVE my features, but when an artist does work and dedicates it especially to you…..well now, it isjust TOO thrilling. The three artists were Robert Abraham, redqueenself, and Patricia McCarty-Tamayo.Robert Abraham dedicated one of his tee shirts to me, and it is called “The Shire Of Denmark” after a hippie town in Denmark that honors a specific bird there. Now I know that Robert knows that I never left my hippie days behind me. So here is his wonderful art honoring me, that crazy bird, and that hippie town. Thank you so very much, Robert!!…

"Civi War Slave Children" was FINALLY featured!!!

As of today, (May 25, 2011), my piece entitled “Civil War Slave Children” has had 514 views and has NEVER been featured in a group. Finally today, that piece was featured in the group, “Inspired Art”. I am very thankful to Francis, the host of “Inspired Art”, for giving recognition to a piece that is so dear to me.
