Mt. Garfield, Colorado by David Lamb

Colorado landscape. This mesa was so large it looked more like a mountain up close.

Colorado

I am lucky to live in a photogenic area right outside of Philadelphia. I have been shooting for about 6 years now, and have a love of Abstract and Landscape photography. I do try and keep it diverse though, and like to explore as many new styles and subjects as I can. And I am one of the few people to have a Facebook page What, everyone has one? Well now I do too.

Called Mt. Garfield, just north of the town of Palisade, and east of Grand Junction. There is a trail to the top, starting just off the right edge of your photo along the spine of one of the shale ridges. It’s only about 2 miles long, but with 1200 ft. of up. There is a flag pole, not shown in this photo, right at the high point, where the view of the valley is breath taking … or was it the climb.

  • Living most of my life in the forests of PA, the landscapes I saw on this trip were almost magical. Thanks for the info, I prefer knowing the names of these places! Maybe I should return and climb to the top, the view must really be something.
