.I know that I have always needed to be doing something creative and challenging to be happy. I even tried paying my bills by making jewelry before I finally went back to school to get a real job. My BS in Business Management and Accounting pays the bills nicely and there was a challenge in taking other people’s ideas and turning them into profitable realities, but it left me with a long dry creative spell.
Diagnosed with Stage IIIB Inflammatory Breast Cancer at age 47 I was forced to realize that I would not live forever. My priorities changed. Family and friends became more important to me and I began working on creative projects again.
I am a survivor and continued to need a challenge. Photography has offered me the opportunity to learn new skills. Even though I am color blind, I enjoy working with color, but never have the confidence to do any color correction. What you see is what I shot! I love working in black & white with the interplay of the light and dark shadows, sometimes subtle, sometimes crisp.
Jewelry design is still a creative outlet. Most of my work is created from sterling silver, tumbled antique glass, vintage beads, shells, pearls, semi-precious stones and other gifts from nature. My jewelry can be viewed and purchased at
