Married

Posted about 1 year ago

Guess I should post that Holly and I were married on the 16th of April, 2011, only a couple of weeks ago now.

The day was wonderful, a sky so blue that you’d start believing that it happened BECAUSE of the wedding and people so friendly and supportive that you’d think we’ve got a bunch of fantastic friends and beautiful families (which is true of course).

Amazed at how fast the …

for much of the world's beauty we have only one chance to look

to become a contemplative one must develop the spiritual eye of attention and what in modern life symbolises more fully and exactly what the life of a contemplative life entails than the camera

solitude and silence are the sine qua non of being a contemplative. in fact a photographer is a contemplative in his own right: he too must become a master of attention

if we had to reduce merton’s &…

Wagga Show Update

Posted over 2 years ago

quick update…

I just got back from the show where i found out that i got one blue ribbon and one red ribbon in the photo competition.

Granted, there weren’t a lot of photos on display, but I’m chuffed anyhow.

I also realised I should have entered in the amateur category rather than the open section as i think i could have done better in that category hahaha…

Posted over 2 years ago

I’ve entered a few photos into the Wagga Show this year, I’ve not bothered about doing anything like this before, but I’ve decided to take the plunge, it’s been three years here and about time I start trying to have a bit of photographic fun…

I’ve just learned a LOT about mounting photos on board, all trial and experience , but a good one to go through, next ti…

Challenge - Rejuvination

Posted over 2 years ago

Well, even though I live a good 5.5 hours from the Yarra Valley and that I had some minor camera issues, and given that I only got home from the trip 20 minutes before the competition closed for entries I managed to get an entry into the Rejuvination challenge .

You can head over there now and vote for your favourite…

I entered the image Yarra Valley – Rejuvination

Taken on my new Sig…

Minolta 100mm F2.8

Posted about 3 years ago

I’ve just picked up a Minolta 100mm f2.8 auto-focus lens.

Unfortunately while it has a really nice case etc, it lacks a manual…

Trying to find one online, if anyone has one and doesn’t mind pdf-ing one for me that’d be lovelyyyyyyy

Or, if anyone that uses one can contact me that’d be great too… I can’t seem to get it to go all the way down to 1:1

Heading Home

Posted about 3 years ago

Going back to Adelaide for a conference mid-May, I’d love to run around with the camera with a little more intention than I did last time I was in town, who know’s what I’ll get the chance to take photos of. I’ll only have a couple of days free from the conference, so not much time at all.

I may head back to the Zoo if I get the chance, I’d love to head back to Victo…

Catalyst wants you to participate in our nationwide ladybird survey .

Grab your camera, get out into the backyard, or local park and take pictures of the ladybirds in your area.

I thought that Stephen may be interested in this, but also that there may be others out there who’d like to join in on the ladybird fun…

Urana... Remixed

Posted over 3 years ago

Since posting the pics from around Urana the other day Mike Emmett remixed Urana while I’ve remixed Hay and uploaded the new images to Redbubble.

Thanks to Mike for the way he’s remixed the image and inspired me to play around with Hay although, I’m still getting used to using layers and curves in Photoshop…
