Kaanapali beach west Maui Hawaii USA Aloha in the Hawaiian language means affection, love, peace, compassion and mercy. Since the middle of the 19th century, it also has come to be used as an English greeting to say goodbye and hello.
To the left of the Sheraton Hotel in the background, is “Black Rock”. Kaanapali Black Rock in ancient times was known as a leina a ka’uhane, or “soul’s leap”, a place where the soul of the dead would leap to the gods. Today it is known for its excellent snorkeling and scuba diving. Canon EOS 50D 17mm ~ f/11.0 ~ ISO-400 ~ Exp comp ~ tone map
