Thank you – the textures come from an initial working in pastel – which I fix and then go on top of with brushy acrylic…

Fantastic work. I love the rough texture. I don’t know that I have heard of interactive acrylics. Do you mean that you worked back and forth with the two? The result is really wonderful…..you really did get more texture and detail by using two mediums. But I have never thought of doing that, that’s why I was wondering about the interactive part.
djones replied
Elizabeth – Interactive Acrylics are an Australian brand that stays wetter – or open, longer – allowing a longer ” draggy” phase which I like…
Golden have now produced a similar range
I begin with pastels making a rough drawing on a pastel ground – fix it to harden it ( and that gives a nice texture tied to the image)then work on it with the acylics – if you need further info send me bubble mail

super painting I have used pastels then oils over , I used craftboard painted with blackboard paint [black] for sealing.
djones replied
I would like to use oils ( the colours are so much more natural ) but am allergic to them!

I have heard about those paints – I am anxious to try them – combining with pastel is great – love this and the lighthouse, too!

Tama – I like the INteractive – but I suspect Golden’s Open may have better colour – I think Golden lead the way most of the time in Acrylics

I find I can’t paint as you do, Like looking at a scene through a wet window, It is so full of moment and feeling yet shys away from detail, I find it deliciously attractive, well done.

lots of the time I wish I did not paint like I do! thanks for kind comments
