Great capture DJ – well spotted.

  • Thank you, Rob… I can barely tear myself away from your sunsets to get some shots uploaded!!

What a cool capture! I don’t think it’s blown own much at all DJ – without that light you wouldn’t have been able to get so much beautiful detail out of those feathers. They so often look like black silhouettes unless you can catch them in just the right light! Well done you :) xo

  • Not tooo bad, ay? just the one beak… I did a shadow/highlight adjustment in PS… worked ok. These ones actually are different from our usual totally black and smaller ones that are ALWAYS around… Got just a few feet from one these guys the day before too! It’s harder to choose WHAT image to work on and upload than it is to take the shots!! lol…
    thank you, sweetie!! :)))))))))

Wow – you sure have some strange cormorants up there DJ. Great shot!

  • Lived out here for 10 years and I’ve never seen these BIG and yellow-beaked cormorants here before, altho my husband has. Their bodies are much lighter in color than our usual ones too! I was totally following them around for the last couple of days!!
    Thank you, Richard!
