Taken today at the Members Only Preview of the Raptor Free Flight Demonstration at Arizona-Sonoran Desert Museum.

It was a great demonstration including this beauty. Along with the regular Great Horned Owl, Chihuahuan Raven, Ferruginous Hawk and Gray Hawk!

A falcon of open habittats and canyon lands, Prairie Falcons hunt rodents and birds by shallow-angled swoops from low to the ground, rather than by the high-altitude stoops of Peregrine Falcon. Young Peregrines can look very similar to Prairie Falcon but have longer, darker tails and never show Prairie’s underwing pattern. Prairie Falcon is almost unknown wast of the Mississippi River and appears to be declining in many areas of the West

VOICE Similar to the Peregrine but a bit highter

My goal is to get my name out there among the vast ocean of Natural photographers. To be known for my skill with a Point & Shoot~

My images are not photo shopped. They have only been adjusted with basic sharpening, contrasting & saturation techniques. I believe that in order to appreciate Nature, you have to capture it as it is, naturally.

Great capture,Kimberly♥ aaww, he’s on a tether! I find it amazing that these birds can be taught to hunt and return to their trainer. :o)) God Bless,Mae

  • yes he is, but all the raptors in the free flight are rescues which is good news. ASDM is the only free flight where the birds do what they want and come back when cued. They are only trained to fly back to the trainers. I hope you can witness it one day! Thank you Mae!
