Taken in my back yard in Marana, Arizona with a Canon SX10 IS. 20 mins before the Hooded Oriole showed up in the same tree! 4-2-10
Like Baltimore Oriole, bullocks favors well treed farmsteads and riparian habitats, especially with cottonwoods and willows: it is also seen in stands of sycamores and oaks or foraging in surrounding open countryside.
In migration, single birds and small flocks may turn up in any lowland habitat. Most winter in Mexico, but a few remain and are seen in groves of blooming eucalyptus.
VOICE SONG like Baltimore but more creaking, grating and clipped and less variable; Female sings a similar song. CALLS raspier than Baltimore
