Common Yellowthroat

I would love to have a better image, but this is the first time I saw him in the open. For them being so commonly seen, he seems awfully shy and bolts as soon as he sees the camera.

This slim, long-tailed is widespread and common in wet brushy fields and marshes. More conspicuous than most ground-dwelling warblers, Yellowthroat twitches the tail like a wren and often forages in the open, Migrants can be numerous in varied habitats. North of Mexico, some 11 subspecies vary subtly, mostly in head pattern and in the extent of yellow below.

VOICE Song a rolling cheerful ta-witchety, repeated up to 6 times. Call a distinctive, full, flat tchep; also a wrenlike fuss.
