Lesser Goldfinch ~ Male by Kimberly Chadwick

Available to buy on…

Taken in Marana, AZ in my back yard 2010

Lesser Goldfinch occupies brushy, semi-open habitats from deserts through high mountains. It is partial to sunflower and thistle seeds, both in the wild and at feeders.

In fall and winter, many withdraw from northern parts of their range" a few have turned up at feeders in the Midwest and East.

Pairs or small flocks forage for seeds and insects in bushes, shrubs, and weedy fields. Males feeds females while she is brooding, and pairs may stay together for life.

VOICE Song given by males in flight, is a lively series of warbles and swee notes. Call, given often by small flocks, is a tee-yee tee-yar

My goal is to get my name out there among the vast ocean of Natural photographers. To be known for my skill with a Point & Shoot~

My images are not photo shopped. They have only been adjusted with basic sharpening, contrasting & saturation techniques. I believe that in order to appreciate Nature, you have to capture it as it is, naturally.
