Taken in Tucson Arizona with a canon powershot SX10IS

One of our most common and widespread lizards. A small )to 59mm or 2.3"), gray, tan or brown lizard with dark gray or brown markings that usually consist of a paired, short, and irregularly shaped crossbars. Some are unmarkedm or have broken stripes or dashes down the length of the back. Males have a blue patch on the side of the belly and a blue, blue-green, yellow or orange throat. Females lack belly belly patches and have a yellow, yellow-green, or orange throat. The top of the head is usually adorned with an ornate pattern of thin dark lines.

Found in most of Arizona’s biotic Conifer Forest. Diurnal. Commonly observed on urban walls, fences, and building exteriors. Eats insects and spiders. Breeds from Spring through Summer.
