Common Side-blotched Lizard (Pair) by

*Common Side-blotched Lizard *

Marana, AZ using a Canon Powershot SX40HS

One of Arizona’s common widespread lizard. A small, gray-brown, orange-tan lizard with a single dark blue to black blotch on each side of the body just behind the forelimbs. Adult males often have bright turquoise blue speckles on the upper surfaces of the back and tail. The side blotch is the difference between the Common Side-blotched and the Long-tailed Brush and Ornate Tree Lizard. Also distinguishing it from the Lesser and Elegant Earless Lizards is the external ear openings

Commonly seen from the lower Colorado River Desert scrub to the Plains grasslands. Active year round all around Southern & western Arizona. Diet includes insects, scorpions, spiders and some plant material.

My goal is to get my name out there among the vast ocean of Natural photographers. To be known for my skill with a Point & Shoot~

My images are not photo shopped. They have only been adjusted with basic sharpening, contrasting & saturation techniques. I believe that in order to appreciate Nature, you have to capture it as it is, naturally.
