Pied-billed Grebe (Breeding Adult) by

Pied-billed Grebe

Taken in Patagonia, Arizona using a Canon Powershot SX40HS

This widespread grebe nests on ponds and lakes with emergent vegetation and winters on freshwater bodies and protected saltwater bays. Sheir and less gregarious than other grebes, it often sinks out of sight when spotted _ thus earning the names like “sink Peter” & “Helldiver”.

Voice Breeding male have loud and vocal; territorial call a rapid, accelerating then decelerating series of _coo- or caow, broken by drawn-out whaa calls

My goal is to get my name out there among the vast ocean of Natural photographers. To be known for my skill with a Point & Shoot~

My images are not photo shopped. They have only been adjusted with basic sharpening, contrasting & saturation techniques. I believe that in order to appreciate Nature, you have to capture it as it is, naturally.
