Naked

Slow-trusting heartbeats
Disrobe insecurities
Guarding cautious lives.

Quickening heartbeats
Yearn for us to get naked
With impassioned lust.

Our merging hearts beat
Stark nakedness together
In compassion’s love.

Heart steadily beats
Vulnerabilities shared
As one companion.

Light beat our hearts close
To the longing openness
Of short relations.

Lost hearts searched for beats
Baring what dark essences
Radiate within.

Heartbeats died within
Dressed an empty stone casket’s
Broken funeral.

My broken heart beats
Emotionally naked
Now that you are gone.

Lonely raw heartbeats
Feeling naked without you
In my daily life.

    Lonely raw heartbeats
    Feeling naked without you

How lovely, utterly courageous to bare emotions in eloquent words!

  • I see you caught the real “naked” body part in the poem.
I’m glad the one with a hole-in-heart avatar likes this piece.

You are wonderful Russ and oh how I envy those who do expose themselves and all their emotions and feelings…something I have such a hard time with….I tend to escape and hide into that fantasy world of mine, which I know is the cowardly way and not the courageous way….so bravo for you…..Hugs:)

  • The words on paper (or computer screen as it were)
are actually almost always the result of what I hide/suppress from others…
and bubble over into a greater concentration of power into these words.

My first poem on my page, I am…, (bottom of page 3 under View all writings on my page) should give you a greater idea as to who I am…and where a lot of this comes from.

Hope you like my “introductory” piece.
