Isle of Hidden Desolation

I’m an inner shadow of an aberration I’ve come to abhor
As others shed their light of admiration for me in the outer facade they adore.

The heat within bakes me until I incinerate in the blaze
Of the living hell I hide within the breaks of a heart sunken deep beneath my evaporating bays.

Nothing but a collection of geysers erupting new confusion…
Attempting to save all of myself in this drowning connection to this old faithful conclusion:

To one day shed the pent-up flood by showing someone my desperate cries on display
In an attempt for others to help me subside these salty waters in this desolate island of disarray.

Nice! I have felt and written like this Russ. Like the train of thought…

  • Glad to hear you can strongly relate.

Curious to hear your thoughts on my I am… poem as well.
It was Beth’s first work of mine she’s read on here…and she decided to make it a favorite of hers.
I think you’ll really like that one, too.
