A lone Bluebonnet in the field. Chappell Hill, TX. Every year around March and April, there is usually an abundance of wild flowers in the fields of Texas. Especially the Bluebonnet, Texas’ state flower. Last year there was next to none, due to the drought. I captured this lone beauty standing proud in a huge field and felt it deserved to be the only color seen!!

    This looks like our Lupin, is it s the same or related?

  • WOW!! it appears it is! I did not know this!! I found this info on wikipedia;
    Lupinus texensis (common name Texas Bluebonnet) is a species of lupine which is endemic to Texas. With other related species of lupines also called bluebonnets.

    I guess you learn something new every day!! Thanks so much for stopping by:)
