… 2000m up in the Tatra mountains south of the Polish ski resort Zacopane on the Slovakian border. Part of the Carpathian mountains they were formed at the same time as the Alps and have the same rocky features..
Giddying drops all the way down on either side of a well defined 2’ wide track left me desperately wishing i’d brought my walking poles for added confidence and stability.. some photo stops found me cowering hugging the trig point after i put the camera away….LOL. . :))
Conditions were a perfect zero degreest this October .(midway in their range of -40Cto30C) but walking bare armed was a joy in the still and thankfully windless sunshine..
A cross border national park (& UNESCO biosphere) was created here to protect the wildlife including lynxes, eagles, chamois, marmots and brown bears even!
