thanks so much lynne – great to have your lovely feedback:))
Amazing when one thinks about how old this photo is in relation to the amazing condition it is in! The boy did a wonderful job of composing this! Thank you for sharing it with us! : )
thanks sandy it seemed the right time to fish it out.. amazing what the simplest cameras got then…
Yes, that is for sure and even today I see some amazing shots taken by some of the cheaper snap shot type cameras! It is the person behind the camera that makes or breaks any given shot! : )
Oh wow Maggie – this is just simply incredible! What an image to have and to keep. Phenomenal – and an absolutely perfect perspective to capture the drama of it! Fantastic my friend!
yes i still find it harrowing to see.. and thanks as always for your wonderful and perceptive supportcheersmaggie:))
A wonderful capture Maggie, it is amazing to think that it is 20 years since the wall came down. Although no one could ever contemplate rebuilding the wall, it is saddening to contemplate that for many East Germans, things actually got worse rather than better.
yes the foreground was no mans land which folk risked their lives to cross..a very sobering piece of history …thanks so much for looking in my friend:))
Oh, Maggie … what an extraordinary image … I remember so well the days when we’d hear someone else was shot dead … trying to escape … trying to get home to their loved ones. And oh, the day that wall came down … as clearly as if it were yesterday. Now I have to ask … were you the 15 year old who took this fabulous image???
LOL giggling here girlishly.. that would be telling…..:))
Wonderful trip down memory lane. Thanks for sharing this wonderful shot!
thanks heaps terence – really appreciate that !:))
