amazing things happen ...

… on this wonderful site..

Warm friendships, help and encouraging support and constant inspiration and ideas shared and reciprocated with talented bubblers across the globe have been the redbubble experience which I’ve soo treasured from my very first day 3 years ago when i posted a single image from a pocket digi camera, brand new.

The absolute icing on the cake is when an artist i respect and admire has used a couple of my own captures as a basis for 2 amazing artworks posted here today.

So huge thanks to Linda Ridpath for this biggest of all compliments – spending your time and skill on bringing these to life in your own special style – i love them!!!

Linda has created these two lovely works Crowsteps & Edinburgh roof line from my own

small beer maybe....

Hi folks

A bit of a plea for help… it may be small beer to you wonderful photographers out there but i’m getting pretty nervous already…..

I’ve been asked to take The Picture of friends cutting their wedding cake… in a small village hall… with either dark or too bright lighting… and with a live ceilidh band and wild dancing afterwards. I would hate to let them down…

Thing is i have a lovely nikon D60 and Nikkor 18-200 VR lens but so far have not mastered the flash at all! Am thinking I might need to get a Speedlight for the event (have been thinking of it) and really have no idea about settings for the conditions.

I would be ever grateful for any idiots guide or simple tips and advice you could give me… its in 7 days time ……

vanishing

RB has been vanishing in front of my eyes since Saturday … and i am now down to being able to see only about40% of images, thumbnails, avaters, challenge entries, product views, featured art, galleries and somehow its especially disheartening to seem my own images disappearing too..

I use vista and firefox (after rb specific difficulties last year with internet explorer) and rb suggested clearing the temporary files and cache and checking security settings, which i’ve done.. in addition ive installed an updated version of firefox ,,, all to no avail… and it seems to be getting worse!! Once images vanish they have not returned tho i can sometimes get a peek by using view larger button … but there is no longer the ability to hover over a thumbnail in a group to brin…
